- Name: Ryan
- Location: Athens, Ga, United States
Our son Ryan was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma in 2004. In 2007, my wife Missy was diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative breast cancer. On July 8th, 2009, Missy lost her battle to this horrible disease. 2 days later, on July 10th, Ryan also lost his. Together forever, they both watch over our family now from the heavens above.
Below is our families journey through Ryan's treatments, along with the joy and laughter we tried to instill into our daily lives. Those days helped us all cope with the pain and suffering that comes with cancer and it's deadly treatments. Both Missy and Ryan endured high doses of chemo, radiation and surgeries. Over 150 nights spent in the hospital and many, many more days. More transfusions than I could count. Yet both Missy and Ryan took on each day with a positive attitude and warm smile for all their friends. We miss them terribly. They will always be a shining light in our lives.

More Progress
Good news from our doctor today, Ryan is scheduled for surgery next Wednesday to remove what is left of the tumor. His chemotherapy has taken care of 50% of it's size, so Dr. Pitt will take care of the rest.
Our next step is to verify his bone and marrow has cleared then get to work on a bone marrow transplant schedule. Thanks for all your support and prayers. We will update you as often as we can.

Back at school today
He is back at school today after spending the weekend in the hospital for the latest round of chemo. His brother, Will, stayed the entire weekend with him. They played video games and watched movies. He is excited because we are going on a picnic tonight.

Tuesday's visit
We were back today for another bone marrow aspirate, but we won't know the results until Thursday. He did really well with no complaints. He has eaten non-stop since we left the hospital and weighed 38 pounds this evening!!!

He's doing great
Hey!! Ryan is doing great. We are headed back to Scottish Rite on the 9th of Sept. for our fourth round of chemo. He has managed these last two rounds really well. He has been in school most days and riding his bike just about everyday. Thanks for all of your prayers and keep up the good work. Love, Les and Missy
